Curate the Vault is an interactive design series from King + Curated that invites our community into the custom process. We begin with one remarkable stone from our private vault -- something rare, expressive, or beautifully unexpected. From there, we open up the floor. Through Instagram polls and creative prompts, you’ll help guide what the stone becomes, from silhouette and setting to style and tone.
This is a behind-the-scenes look at how we create and a chance to take part in the process without starting from scratch.
To honor the intention behind every step, we move at the pace of community. Each phase of the design process will only move forward once we receive 100 votes. It’s our way of letting the piece unfold naturally, with shared vision and thoughtful timing at its core.
What Is Curate the Vault?
At its heart, Curate the Vault is a love letter to custom. It’s about showing how one carefully chosen stone can evolve into a one-of-a-kind piece through shared insight and creative collaboration.
Each edition begins with a featured gem. We’ll introduce it through video, specs, and measurements so you can understand what we're working with, whether you're tuning in virtually or visiting us in person. The stone will be on live display at the shop, so feel free to stop in and see it for yourself!
From there, the conversation begins. Through polls on Instagram Stories, you’ll help guide the design from the overall form (ring, necklace, bracelet, etc.) to nuanced style decisions. Once we reach the response goal at each stage, we move forward together.
And here’s what makes it even more exciting:

If someone decides to purchase the stone or claim the design mid-process, they may take over and finish the custom journey themselves.

If no one steps in and the piece makes it all the way to production, it will be available for purchase at the end of the series.
