There’s a certain rhythm to the shop in the summer; one that feels both effortless and electric.
The door opens, the music starts, and the day unfolds in a series of small, meaningful moments. A client discovers a one-of-a-kind piece—drawn to an unexpected stone—that resonates in a way they didn’t anticipate, especially someone who’s never considered themselves a “jewelry person.” A group of friends gathered around the permanent jewelry station, laughing as they choose their chains. The quiet focus of wrapping a finished piece in a box, knowing it will become part of someone’s story.
Working at King + Curated is not just about jewelry.
This is a space for someone who is naturally curious, emotionally aware, and finds joy in connecting with others.
It’s about people and the full spectrum of the human experience.
One moment, you’re helping someone choose an engagement ring, holding the quiet excitement of what’s to come. You become part of a secret, a milestone, a question waiting to be asked. Another moment, you’re celebrating an anniversary– hearing the story of years built together, helping mark time with something lasting.
And sometimes, the space asks for something softer.
There are moments when someone walks in carrying loss. A piece that needs to be remade. A ring that holds memory. In those moments, the work becomes about presence: about listening, about holding space with care and respect. Simply holding space with care.
This is a place for connection.
We are committed to creating an inclusive space; one where all people feel seen, respected, and welcome. We celebrate different backgrounds, identities, and ways of expressing style, and we approach every interaction with openness and care. We just want to fill out space with kind hearted humans.
This space has always been built on the belief that jewelry holds meaning far beyond what we see.
It’s about learning how to read a room, how to welcome someone in, how to make them feel comfortable enough to explore and supported enough to share. It’s about expanding what someone thinks jewelry can be; lifting the traditional rules of design and inviting them into something more open. We revel in doing things differently, encouraging curiosity, and allowing people to explore beyond what they expected to like. It’s about creating space for someone to imagine, to play, and to live for a moment in that dreaming space… where a piece doesn’t just fit, it becomes a reflection of who they are or who they’re becoming.
Some days are steady and soft. Others are full and fast-paced. There are quiet in-between moments, too… resetting the cases, sharing ideas, laughing with the team. A slow morning spent playing with rings, turning them just slightly to catch the sunlight—trying to get the shot.
Sometimes we get to collaborate with neighboring small businesses we admire, those that feel aligned with us, and create events and pop-ups that bring a different kind of energy into the space or take us on the road. We share space, stories, and meet new faces that, before long, begin to feel familiar, before settling back into the quieter rhythm of the shop. You learn quickly that no two days are the same.
There’s a sense of pride in being part of something thoughtfully built. A small team that cares deeply about the experience we create: for our clients and for each other. Everyone contributes, everyone learns, and everyone brings their own perspective to the space.
We teach you everything you need to know about jewelry; but truthfully, the learning here is endless. There’s always more to discover: where stones were found across the world, how they’ve been used throughout history, what energy they’re believed to carry, and the science behind how they’re formed. Your curiosity and desire to learn help shape how deep we go, we’re just as interested in what you want to explore, and we make space for that curiosity to grow. More than that, you learn how to connect, how to listen and how to be present.
It’s the kind of work that asks you to be engaged; to show up with energy, with intention, with curiosity. And in return, it gives you a space that feels creative, collaborative, and genuinely rewarding.
There’s also a rhythm to the day itself.
Mornings begin slowly… you have space to wake up, ease into your day, maybe have a coffee in the quiet before arriving at 10:30. And by the time the shop winds down, there’s still so much of the evening ahead of you. The kind where you can stroll down Main Street, meet a friend for dinner or a drink, or pack a simple picnic and head to Long Dock Park as the sun starts to set later in those long summer days. It’s a day that doesn’t end when your shift does, it gently carries on into the energy and friends that are right outside our doors.
We’ve been open for nine years, and while this role is designed for the summer, we’re continuing to grow. When the timing aligns, we love welcoming familiar faces back into the fold; there’s something special about continuity here.
By the end of the summer, it’s not just a job you remember.
It’s the people. The moments. The stories you were trusted to hold.
That’s what it’s like to work at King + Curated.
If this feels like something you’d want to be part of, we’d love to meet you.
And if we’re being honest—a small perk of being part of it all…the discount doesn’t hurt either.
Hoping you take a step forward if this feels like a fit.
Sincerely with Excitement,
Lauren
